17-month-old tests positive for meth

A 17-month-old child tested positive for methamphetamine after officers reportedly found numerous items used in meth manufacture and use at his mother’s home.

Salana Scarborough, 22, 230 Blackfoot Trail, was charged Thursday with child endangerment causing bodily injury.

According to police reports, Scarborough admitted she was aware the other occupants of the home used and sold methamphetamine. She reportedly told officers she had purchased one box of pseudoephedrine — a key ingredient in the production of meth — and given it to her boyfriend. He was charged with manufacturing meth.

Police discovered Scarborough has purchased pseudoephedrine five times in two months. She also admitted she knew her boyfriend is a convicted felon and knew about numerous guns in the residence.

Child endangerment causing bodily injury is a Class D felony, generally punishable by up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $7,500.
