Transient reportedly breaks down door during argument

A transient man allegedly broke down a woman’s door during an argument.

Quincy Hannah, 26, address unknown, was charged Nov. 12 with first-degree burglary.

According to Iowa City police, officers responded to 2401 Highway 6 E. at 3:36 p.m. after receiving a trespassing report. Officers said they spoke to the woman who explained she had entered into an argument with Hannah in her apartment before she asked him to leave. Hannah later said he had lived with the woman for two weeks.

Hannah reportedly took the woman’s cell-phone battery and back cover, stepped outside, then broke the door frame by pushing in the door.

Iowa City police said officers found Hannah in another building — he denied pushing in the door.

Officers recovered the cell-phone battery and backing.

First-degree burglary is a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
