Authorities report they found an unresponsive male under a bridge, and he later died at a local hospital.

Iowa City police, Fire Department and Johnson County Ambulance Service responded to a report of an unresponsive adult male on the bike trail under the Highway 6 bridge at 11:42 a.m. Monday.

Emergency services transported the man to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he later died.

Authorities identified the man but won’t release his name until the family is notified.

Police are investigating but do not consider the death to be suspicious.
