Police arrested an Cedar Rapids man and charged him with using a fake name to steal from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Abdullrahman Aldosari, 51, was charged March 18 with theft by deception.
According to authorities, Aldosari used a false name and birthdate to obtain services and prescriptions from UIHC on three occasions between October 2009 and February 2010.
The total hospital charges totaled almost $40,000.
Theft by deception is a Class C felony, generally punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
