Iowa City city councilors decided Monday they will enlist four firms in the hiring of a new city manager.
Roughly 11 months ago, the city fired then-City Manager Michael Lombardo. The search firm that had guaranteed it would find a replacement went bankrupt.
The four firms that will meet with councilors on April 9 are: the Brimeyer Group Inc., the Mercer Group Inc., Slavin Management Consultants, Inc., and Colin Baenziger Associates.
