Woman charged with pimping

The Johnson County Sheriff’s office arrested a Cedar Rapids woman after she allegedly prostituted her daughter to an undercover police officer.

Mary Doolin, 60, Cedar Rapids, was charged Feb. 8 with pimping as part of an undercover prostitution sting.

Doolin allegedly agreed to send a young female to an undercover officer over the phone. The young female was her daughter, who was charged with prostitution.

According to police, Doolin admitted to running a prostitution ring for a number of years. She has previous convictions for pimping.

Pimping is a Class D felony, generally punishable by up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of up to $7,500.
