An Iowa City man pleaded not guilty on Thursday to involuntary manslaughter, according to court officials.
Alajuwon Shamar Johnson, 26, was charged Jan. 1 in to the death of 20-year-old Kylie Jo Perkins.
Johnson was also charged with the possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and carrying weapons.
The official charges and Johnson’s plea were filed in a written arraignment.
