Coralville set to clean up

Coralville will host its annual “Mayor’s Cleanup Week” from Oct. 5 through Oct. 9.

The week allow residents to put large items on the curb, including furniture, bathroom fixtures, bicycles, swing sets, and grills.

The items will be picked up on regular garbage days. If not picked up then, they will be collected the next day. Metal will be picked up in a separate truck. City officials are asking residents to label yard waste and garbage separately.

Things that will not be picked up include paint, oil, other hazardous materials, tires, and construction materials such as drywall, lumber, concrete, and brick.

Appliances and electronics can be picked up by appointments on the last Thursday and Friday of each month for an additional charge.
