2 locals face numerous charges

Warrants have been requested for two Iowa City residents on several charges, including child endangerment.

Katheryn Lincoln, 23, and Matthew Stoneking, 34, both of 56 Amhurst St., have each been charged with child endangerment, according to affidavits. On April 11, police reportedly discovered that drug activity was taking, or had taken, place in Lincoln and Stoneking’s home. When officers searched a bedroom shared by the two defendants, which was located next to the bedroom of a 10-year-old child, they allegedly found a shotgun, drugs, and drug paraphernalia, which tested positive for methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and Ecstasy, the affidavits said. If the child had gone into the room with drugs in it, the affidavits said, the child would have been at risk for injury or death because of the items in the room.

In addition to child-endangerment charges, Lincoln and Stoneking have been charged with several drug-related crimes.

Child endangerment is a Class-C felony.
