An Iowa City man has been accused of attacking a person and inflicting injury.

Authorities have charged Brandon Juniel, 22, 2357 Whispering Meadow Drive, with willful injury causing bodily injury. On Dec. 4, 2017, Juniel and five others allegedly hit and kicked a person near the intersection of Amber Lane and Lakeside Drive, and one member of the group fired a gun at the person, according to an affidavit. Security footage from Grant Wood Elementary showed the group leaving the area, and a .40-caliber shell casing was found on the scene, the affidavit said.

A warrant has been requested for Juniel’s arrest, the affidavit said.

Willful injury causing bodily injury is a Class-D felony.
