An Iowa City man was found guilty of interference with official acts with a dangerous weapon, almost a year-and-a-half after he was arrested for robbing a convenience store.

Ahkinea Cox will be sentenced Oct. 1.

According to Iowa City police, Cox threatened the clerk at Gasby's, 1310 S. Gilbert St. in November 2009.

Officers reported they saw one man robbing the clerk with a knife while another held a bag for the money.

Police detained the other man while Cox fled on foot before being caught, police reports show. He was initially charged with first-degree robbery and interference with official acts.
